So what kind of crazy thoughts come to my head these times?
Well the goals are:
- finish MC in Pakistan on 1st of July
- travel Pakistan for 2-3 weeks
- go back to Slovakia in an interesting way (I still dont know what it means)
- travel Slovakia and Czech republic for some month
- while being in Slovakia, walk/hike it from East to West (like 2 weeks?)
Now this is just to show what a person can do in Pakistan within one week… it was not my week, but I was there, so I can write about it
The girl is Anna a.k.a. Maya from Hungary… The tickets from Budapest to Karachi sounded expensive so she took a flight to India and from over there took a bus to Lahore – Pakistan, we picked her up right after crossing the Paki-India border…
Since her arrival till now she has:
- been to Shalimar Gardens
- been for a cinema show of a 3-hours long Punjabi movie called Gulabo (rosebud)
- took a ride on a rollercoaster for 0,5 USD
- felt sick because of all the spicy food
- bought her first Shalwar Kameez
- been to Badshahi Mosque, old city of Lahore and Food Street
- took with the MC a 23 hours long train ride from Lahore to Karachi
- got bitten by miriads of mosqitos and found the miracle of Repellent
- had the first day in company (Unilever) and was busy since first minute
- been to Mohatta Palace and the Beach park in Karachi
- organized an AIESEC+Hungary presentation for the company people
- on weekend suggested that we go to Thatta, so we did
…time limitations are only in Your head, maybe I should be little bit creative with my time too.
Quote of the day…
a Pakistani asking a new trainee what is different in PK from home…
her answer is exactly what was my though:
“its hard to say, there is nothing that would be similar

personal.
I just gave a thought about my working style and what gives me the most pleasure at work and put together a couple of thoughts on how should my job look like (rather than what should it be).
Again one of those articles that makes no sense to anybody who doesnt really care to know what I think
So here we go:
I was not born to lead unefficient people, people who will not follow what they promised, people who have to be micromanaged. I also cant lead people that cant be quiet and listen (when its time to listen), I loose my patience with them too fast.
I want to be an artist in my job, move and work with grace, talk about things that sound like natural to me, but are new and surprising for other. It can be evenĀ (preferably) be things that I have realized just a moment before I tell them, as I will feel the pleasure of discovering something new, that nobody thought of before. I want to to tell analysises, sum-ups, point out connections of randomly spread facts that together make a pattern. I would like to be an emotions manager – analysing what will people think/feel in a situation, be a creep who estimates reactions, a calculating “TV serial killer” like guy…
Not sure if this will become a very short or very long post, it depends on what do I write about… I was on a conference… actually I organized it… what should I say…
I made a webpage for it here: www.aiesec.pk/nsc08
And have put some nice pictures here …I didnt make too many of general “people pictures” and actually have to put them online…
What should I write about the conference to give it sense for people who have not been there, consider it to be just an another conference or dont even care too much about AIESEC conferences?
Well, lets try it like this:
- each Local Chapter came with between 2 and 6 different dances to mostly bollywood songs but also random 70s disco.
- The conferences in Pakistan are officially decided to be without alcohol, but it was fully fine, because we had galons of Pakola and sheesha to socialize with.
- The conference was on the hills in Murree and thus sometimes we had been quite freezing.
- The hotel (Shangrilla) is a few star hotel that I would never be able to efford.
- On the last night a bunch of guys have decided to follow the tradition that on last night there is no sleep, they have been hanging on the swings till morning.
- The official night had more than 20 externals participating and was covered by Dawn TV.
- The conference made a profit that will finance the LC for at least half a year.

I know that I already did a post on the conference (National Strategic Conference 2008), but this is something different…
I have been dealing with an HR+training company called Navitus for the conference (and beyond), one of the basic things I noticed at these guys is that everything is possible – whatever You suggest, their reply is: sure, sounds cool, just send us some more info and we see what we can do…
One of the things they gave AIESEC Pakistan (without us even considering such an option) was that a guy called Sarmad Tariq would come and deliver a speech at the closing plenary. Who is Sarmad? A guy who lost everything he had – purpose of life and ability to move anything apart from his head, but didnt give up. He has gained partly both of it, he still cant walk but he has a damn interesting life…
And he told us a few things about him and his view on life…
Quote 1:
I dont want to stay/go to place that reminds me about what I cant do, but a place that challenges me and gives me satisfaction about what I can do.
Quote 2:
Pain is temporary, pride is for ever.
Quote 3:
There is a physical law: “every action causes a reaction of same power but opposite direction”. The only difference between objects and human beings is that humans case the reaction doesnt have to be in the opposite direction – humans can use the action, make it stronger, make use of it.
